Tutoring, Guitar Lessons, and Creative Learning

Math, reading, writing, science, and history for K–12 students. We work on current assignments and the earlier ideas that may be making them difficult. Students ready for more can explore a subject in greater depth or begin new material.

Students practice understanding a question, choosing an approach, organizing their work, and checking their reasoning. We use their own assignments to develop habits they can use again, along with the judgment to know when a different approach is needed.

Preparation for SAT, ACT, AP exams, and placement tests. Practice results help us identify what needs attention, from subject knowledge and interpreting questions to pacing. The plan takes account of the test, the student's starting point, and the time available.

A student chooses something to investigate or create: a story, a game, a design, a business idea, or a question to research. I help shape the project, organize the work, and offer feedback as the student develops it.

For students who are discouraged, avoiding schoolwork, or struggling to find a reason to engage. I listen to how the student sees the work, look for what is getting in the way, and build from a manageable starting point with room for the student's choices.

Tutoring for students with learning and attention needs, including those with an IEP or 504 plan. I use the information families share to adapt explanations, materials, pacing, and support. This is educational support, not evaluation or treatment.

Individual and small-group lessons introduce songs, rhythm, technique, and music theory through playing. Students work on music they are interested in at a pace that fits their experience. Beginner lessons are available for children, teens, and adults.

Students practice explaining ideas, listening to others, planning shared work, and following through on responsibilities. Projects and group activities give them opportunities to make decisions, contribute, and reflect on how their choices affect other people.
